SAIC Motor MG HS History

Launched in 2018 as the replacement for the MG GS, the MG HS is a compact crossover positioned above the subcompact ZS in MG's global lineup. Engine options include a 1.5-litre turbocharged four producing 169 hp and a 2.0-litre turbo with 231 hp, with a plug-in hybrid (PHEV) variant rounding out the range.

The HS became important to MG's UK and European strategy as a family-size alternative, bringing genuine specification and value to compete with European rivals. A refreshed version was introduced in subsequent years to keep the model competitive.
