RUF CTR2 History

When Porsche introduced the 993 generation 911, Ruf responded with the CTR2 — a successor to the legendary Yellowbird built on the newer platform. The twin-turbocharged 3.6-litre flat-six was tuned to produce between 520 and 580 PS depending on configuration, pushing the car to a top speed of approximately 217 mph (350 km/h) and 0–60 mph in under 3.5 seconds.

Only 16 standard CTR2s were built between 1995 and 1996, maintaining Ruf's tradition of extreme exclusivity. A Sport variant with 580 PS was also offered, further limited in number. The CTR2 was one of the fastest road cars on earth when it was introduced and remains a highly sought collector car.
