Riley Pathfinder History

The Riley Pathfinder, built by Riley Motors from 1953 to 1957, replaced the RMF as the marque's large saloon. It kept Riley's own 2½-litre (2,443 cc) twin-high-camshaft four-cylinder engine — the last Riley to do so — in a contemporary unibody-era saloon shell shared in concept with the Wolseley 6/90.

Marketed under the slogan 'magnificent motoring', the Pathfinder had distinctive engineering but a mixed reputation for its rear suspension. When it was replaced, the related Riley Two-Point-Six adopted the BMC C-Series six, ending the use of Riley's own engine.
