Riley Elf History

The Riley Elf was a more luxurious version of the BMC Mini, produced from 1961 to 1969 alongside its near-identical twin, the Wolseley Hornet. It added a small traditional Riley grille, an extended booted tail that gave more luggage space than the standard Mini, and a more upmarket interior with wood and better trim.

Like the Mini it used BMC's transverse A-Series engine, growing from 848 cc to 998 cc through its run. The Elf is one of the more collectible Mini variants today and one of the last cars to wear the Riley badge.
