History

Introduced at the Guangzhou Motor Show in November 2015, the Qoros 5 entered sales in China in March 2016 as the brand's first crossover utility vehicle. It used the same 1.6-litre turbocharged four-cylinder (156 bhp / 116 kW) as the Qoros 3 turbo, paired with a dual-clutch transmission, and featured an independent suspension layout — McPherson struts at the front, multi-link at the rear — which was a notable point of difference against some segment rivals that used a twist-beam rear.

The Qoros 5's European-influenced design referenced cues from contemporary Range Rover Evoque styling, with sharp swept headlights and a clean, minimalist cabin. Despite the brand's overall sales struggles, the Qoros 5 proved its most commercially relevant model: it accounted for approximately 45% of all Qoros units sold in 2016, with nearly 11,000 delivered that year. Production ran through 2020 before the company's dissolution.
