History
Launched in May 2023, the X90 is Proton's third Geely-platform model — based on the Geely Haoyue (marketed globally as the Okavango). A large D-segment three-row SUV, it was Proton's most ambitious model since the Perdana, targeting the Mazda CX-8, Nissan X-Trail, and Volkswagen Tiguan Allspace.
The X90 carries a 1.5L turbocharged three-cylinder engine with a 48-volt mild-hybrid system producing 184 hp and 300 Nm, paired with a seven-speed wet dual-clutch transmission. Standard variants seat seven in a 2-3-2 layout; the Flagship trim is a six-seat 2-2-2 captain's chairs configuration.
