History
Launched on 26 January 1995, the Perdana was Proton's first D-segment executive saloon, based on the seventh-generation Mitsubishi Eterna and developed in collaboration with Mitsubishi Motors. It became the vehicle of choice for Malaysian government ministers and official motorcades.
A V6 variant arrived in November 1998 with Mitsubishi's 2.0L 6A12 24-valve V6 producing 150 PS — the engine also featured ride and handling refinement from Proton's Lotus subsidiary. A second generation ran from 2013 to 2020, at which point the Perdana nameplate was retired.
