History
Developed from the Polestar O2 concept, the Polestar 5 is the brand's range-topping performance GT — a four-door fastback built on an all-new bonded-aluminium platform rather than the shared Volvo architecture used by the 3 and 4. It was revealed in production form in 2025, with European deliveries beginning late 2025 and US deliveries of the 2026 model expected in mid-2026.
The Polestar 5 pairs dual electric motors (all-wheel drive) for a combined 748 hp and 900 N·m (664 lb·ft) of torque, accelerating to 100 km/h in a claimed 3.9 seconds. Its 112 kWh battery supports 350 kW DC fast charging and a WLTP range of approximately 670 km (416 miles). A US EPA range figure has not yet been published; US pricing is likewise unconfirmed but is expected to start in the region of $135,000–$140,000 (sources vary).
