Polestar Polestar 3 History
History
Revealed in October 2022 and arriving for the 2024 model year, the Polestar 3 is the brand's first SUV — a five-seater measuring nearly five metres in length on a shared architecture with the Volvo EX90. It is notable for being Polestar's first US-manufactured vehicle: a South Carolina factory (a Volvo facility) began Polestar 3 production in mid-2024 alongside Chinese production in Chengdu.
The Polestar 3 is offered with either a long-range single-motor (rear-drive, approximately 299 hp, up to 350 miles of EPA range) or a long-range dual-motor (all-wheel-drive, 489 hp, 620 lb·ft). Its interior shares the Polestar 2's minimalist philosophy, with a 14.5-inch central touchscreen running Android Automotive. A Performance Pack adds Öhlins electronically controlled dampers and Brembo brakes.
