Ora Ballet Cat History

The Ballet Cat originated from the Punk Cat concept, which debuted at Auto Shanghai in April 2021. A production version dubbed the Punk Cat launched in China in March 2022, and the refined Ballet Cat variant followed in July 2022 — designed with an explicitly retro aesthetic that drew heavily on the rounded silhouette of the Volkswagen Beetle Type 1.

Ora positioned the Ballet Cat toward a female buyer demographic with its rounded curves, pastel color options, and 'Ballet' branding. Powertrain options include a 169 hp front motor with 49.92 kWh (CLTC range ~401 km) or 60.5 kWh (CLTC range ~500 km) LFP batteries. A 'World Edition' targeting international markets was introduced in late 2023.
