History

The modern Clubman launched in late 2007 (for 2008) as a longer, more practical Mini, reviving the Clubman name last used on the classic estate. The first-generation R55 had a quirky asymmetric layout — a single rear-hinged 'Clubdoor' on one side — plus split barn doors at the back.

The larger second-generation F54 arrived for 2015 with a conventional four-door layout while keeping the trademark twin rear barn doors. Squeezed by the crossover boom, the Clubman was discontinued when the last car left Oxford in February 2024.
