MG MG6 History
History
The MG6 launched in China in 2010 (UK sales from 2011) as the first genuinely new MG of the SAIC era. Derived from an in-progress Roewe project, it was offered as a five-door fastback (marketed MG6 GT) and a four-door saloon (MG6 Magnette).
It also marked MG's return to motorsport: an MG6 contested the British Touring Car Championship from 2012, taking the Manufacturers' Championship in 2014. A second-generation MG6 followed in 2016 and remained on sale in China.
