Lancia Kappa History

The Kappa replaced the Thema in 1994 as Lancia's flagship executive car, sharing the Fiat Type 3 platform with the Alfa Romeo 166. It was offered as a saloon, a Pininfarina-designed coupé, and an estate, with a range of four- and six-cylinder engines.

Commercial performance was modest — by the mid-1990s Lancia's prestige in northern Europe had been eroded by the brand's earlier corrosion problems — and production ended in 2001 when the Thesis took over.
