HSV Grange History

From 1997 the Grange replaced the earlier HSV Statesman and Caprice nameplates as the single top-tier luxury model in the HSV range, based on the long-wheelbase Holden Statesman (and later the Caprice WN). It offered the same V8 engines as the rest of the HSV lineup — ultimately the LS3 at up to 317 kW — in an executive-car body with a longer wheelbase and more rear-seat luxury.

The Grange appealed to buyers who wanted HSV's performance credentials in a quieter, more chauffeur-ready package. It sold in smaller numbers than the Commodore-based models but was a consistent presence in the HSV catalogue through the VS, VT, VX, VY, VZ, VE, and WN series.

Grange production ended in 2016 when the Holden Caprice WN itself was discontinued, a year before the rest of the Commodore-based HSV range closed.
