HSV Coupé4 History
History
Based on the Holden Monaro (itself derived from the Commodore platform), the HSV Coupé range began in 2001 with the Monaro-based GTO and GTS variants. The Coupé4, introduced for 2004, was the most exotic of the line — a two-door grand tourer with an HSV-developed all-wheel drive system said to use components sourced from the Hummer H1.
Priced at nearly AU$90,000 and equipped to Senator Signature interior standards, the Coupé4 was the most expensive and technically ambitious HSV of its era. Fewer than 140 examples were produced (approximately 134 by most counts, including 6 pilot cars), making it one of the rarest factory HSVs ever offered to the public.
The broader HSV Coupé line (including the GTO and GTS coupe variants) ended with the VZ Monaro's retirement in 2006, when Holden discontinued the Monaro platform.

High-performance Monaro-based coupé powered by the 300 kW Callaway C4B V8; offered only during the V2 series (special-order from ~2003) and discontinued in 2004, unlike the GTO which continued to 2006.
