GM Korea Orlando History

The Chevrolet Orlando was designed and developed principally by GM Korea as a compact multi-purpose vehicle (MPV) on the Delta II platform it shared with the Cruze. Production began at the Gunsan plant in October 2010, with Korean sales starting in February 2011. GM Korea marketed it as an 'Active Life Vehicle' (ALV), positioning it for families and active buyers.

The Orlando was sold in South Korea, Europe, Canada, and several Latin American and Asian markets. European sales ended in 2014 when Chevrolet withdrew from most of the European market. Global first-generation production concluded in 2018 when GM closed the Gunsan plant as part of its Korean restructuring; a China-only second generation followed from a different GM joint venture.
