GM Korea Lanos History

The Daewoo Lanos was developed from 1993 and launched in 1997 as Daewoo's compact family car replacement for the Nexia, with exterior styling by Italdesign (Giugiaro). It was sold in Europe, North America, Australia, and emerging markets as an affordable, practical hatchback and sedan.

South Korean production of the Lanos ended in 2002 when GM absorbed Daewoo and replaced it with the new Kalos platform, though licensed production continued in Poland, Ukraine, Egypt, and other countries for many years afterward.
