History

The GV60 was Genesis's first purpose-built battery-electric vehicle, first delivered in the US on 26 May 2022 and sold as a 2023 model year vehicle. Built on the Hyundai Motor Group's dedicated E-GMP electric platform — shared with the Hyundai Ioniq 5 and Kia EV6 — the GV60 offered a distinctive exterior, 800-volt fast-charging capability, and a dual-motor AWD powertrain as standard on the Performance trim making approximately 483 horsepower.

Initial US sales were limited to California, Connecticut, New Jersey, and New York before expanding further. The GV60 positioned Genesis squarely in the premium electric segment, competing with the BMW iX3 and Audi Q4 e-tron.
