History

Launched for 1968 as the top Fairlane series and soon a standalone model, the Torino was Ford's intermediate through the muscle era.

The aerodynamic 1969 Talladega was built to homologate Ford's NASCAR racers, and the 'Cobra' brought big-block performance. The Gran Torino became a 1970s pop-culture icon before the name ended in 1976.
