History
The Fairlane name (after Henry Ford's Fair Lane estate) launched for 1955 on full-size cars before becoming Ford's intermediate in the 1960s.
Mid-1960s Fairlanes hosted serious muscle, including the 427-powered Thunderbolt drag cars and the GT/GTA. The name gave way to the Torino for 1970.
