History

The 1960 Falcon was Ford's answer to the early compact-car boom — light, simple, and cheap to run, it was an immediate sales success.

Its platform underpinned the original 1964½ Mustang. The North American Falcon was sold through 1970, though the nameplate continued for decades in Australia and Argentina.
