Ford Ranger History
History
The Ranger launched for 1983 as Ford's compact pickup, replacing the imported Courier, and ran for nearly three decades as a North American staple before being dropped after 2011.
A global mid-size Ranger had continued overseas; Ford brought it back to North America for 2019, and a new generation arrived for 2024 with the off-road Ranger Raptor.
