Ford Maverick (classic) History
History
Introduced in April 1969 as a 1970 model at a sub-$2,000 price, the original Maverick was a back-to-basics compact built on Falcon underpinnings.
Around 2.1 million were built across 1970–1977 before the Fairmont replaced it. (Not to be confused with the unrelated 2022 Maverick compact pickup.)
