Ford Focus History
History
Launched in North America for 2000, the Focus replaced the Escort with sharper handling and modern packaging, and became a global best-seller.
Performance versions — the turbocharged Focus ST and the 350-hp all-wheel-drive Focus RS — built a strong enthusiast following. North American sales ended after 2018 as Ford exited most car segments.
