History
The Force One debuted in November 2011 as Force Motors' first attempt at a mass-market passenger SUV, competing against the Mahindra Scorpio and Tata Safari. Underpinned by a Mercedes-Benz-derived engine and marketed on its off-road credibility, the vehicle attracted niche interest but struggled commercially — only 3,008 units were sold between November 2011 and January 2016.
Force Motors announced the discontinuation of the Force One in 2017, citing the model's inability to meet the government's updated crash safety and safety-norm requirements, as well as the poor sales trajectory. The company subsequently refocused its passenger-vehicle efforts on the Gurkha off-roader rather than the mainstream SUV segment.
