History
The Ocean was the flagship of Fisker Inc., the second company Henrik Fisker founded in 2016 after the collapse of Fisker Automotive. Revealed as a concept in 2020 and built under contract by Magna Steyr in Graz, Austria, it was an all-electric mid-size crossover SUV pitched on sustainability, with a recycled-material interior and an optional solar roof the company claimed could add a small amount of range each year.
Customer deliveries began in mid-2023, with a launch-edition 'Ocean One' offered alongside Sport, Ultra, and dual-motor Extreme trims; the Extreme was marketed with over 350 miles of range. Despite building over 10,000 Oceans in 2023, Fisker struggled to deliver them, plagued by software glitches, service problems, and a botched shift from a direct-sales model to dealerships.
Running out of cash, Fisker paused production in March 2024 and filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy on June 17, 2024 — its second corporate failure in a decade. Magna ended Ocean production, and a US safety investigation and unresolved recalls left existing owners facing an uncertain future for parts and software support.

Force E
An off-road package for the all-wheel-drive Ocean, unveiled in 2023 and developed at Fisker's Magic Works division in England, with 33-inch tires, raised ground clearance, upgraded dampers, and skid plates. Priced at roughly $14,000 and slated for a Q1 2024 launch, it never reached customers before the company's June 2024 collapse.
