History

The Citroën Berlingo debuted at the October 1996 Paris Motor Show as a compact panel van for light commercial use, with an optional passenger-carrying Multispace variant seating five occupants. Developed jointly with Peugeot — which sold the mechanically identical Partner — the Berlingo quickly established itself as a segment leader in Europe for compact vans and car-derived people carriers.

A second generation arrived in 2008 with a more modern platform shared again with the Peugeot Partner, and the third generation launched in March 2018 introduced a significantly more refined interior and, by 2021, a battery-electric ë-Berlingo variant. A facelift was revealed in October 2023 with technology updates.
