History

Showcased at the 2021 Chengdu Auto Show and launched in China as the Yuan Plus on February 19, 2022, the Atto 3 is the export-market name for BYD's C-segment pure-electric compact crossover. BYD dedicated a production line to right-hand-drive variants and simultaneously opened pre-sales in Australia under the Atto 3 name on the same day as the Chinese launch.

Sold in Europe, Australia, the UK, Japan, Israel, Brazil, and elsewhere, the Atto 3 became the vehicle that established BYD as a credible global brand outside China. It surpassed one million cumulative sales globally in under three years of production, and remains one of the best-selling electric crossovers in multiple export markets.
