Brilliance Zhonghua BS4 (M2) History
History
Known in China as the Zhonghua Junjie and exported as the Brilliance BS4 (or M2), this compact C-segment sedan was produced from 2006 to 2014. Like its larger BS6 sibling it was intended for European sale, with first shipments to Germany in 2008 — one of the earliest attempts by a Chinese manufacturer to establish a foothold in Europe.
The European experiment ended badly: in Euro NCAP's 2009 tests the BS4 scored zero stars, an even worse result than the BS6. Brilliance withdrew the model from Europe in 2010 after negligible sales; domestic Chinese production continued until 2014 when the H330 compact replaced the BS series. No direct successor carried the BS/M naming forward.
