Baojun RS-5 History
History
The RS-5 debuted at the 2018 Guangzhou Auto Show and entered production in April 2019, becoming the first model to wear Baojun's revised minimalist 'diamond horse' logo that signaled the brand's 'New Baojun' repositioning. Powered by a 1.5-litre turbocharged engine producing 151 hp and mated to a CVT, the RS-5 sat above the 530 in Baojun's compact crossover lineup.
Under the New Baojun naming convention, SUVs and crossovers received RS prefixes, passenger cars RC, and minivans RM. The RS-5 was discontinued in 2021 as the brand accelerated its transition to electric vehicles.
