The TF 21 of 1966 was the final Alvis car. Available as a saloon coupé and a drophead, with manual or automatic transmission, its triple-carburettor 3-litre six made it the fastest Alvis ever — a top speed of around 127 mph — even as the basic design was showing its age.
Only about 106 were built. With Alvis by then owned by Rover and the British car industry in turmoil, car manufacturing ceased in 1967, after which the company continued solely as a maker of armoured fighting vehicles. The Alvis name was later revived for continuation cars built on original specifications.
