Zenvo ST1 History

The Zenvo ST1 was the company's first production model, with the initial prototype completed in December 2008 and customer deliveries beginning in 2009. Designed by Christian Brandt and Jesper Hermann, it was hand-assembled in Præstø using CNC-router-machined components — an unusual manufacturing approach for a vehicle of this complexity.

Under the elongated hood sat a 7.0-litre twincharged V8 based on the GM LS7 block, fitted with both a supercharger and a turbocharger. Zenvo claimed outputs of 1,104 PS (1,089 bhp) and 1,430 N·m of torque, a 0–100 km/h time of 3.0 seconds, and an electronically limited top speed of 375 km/h (233 mph). List price was €660,000.

International notoriety arrived when a press car appeared on Top Gear and caught fire mid-test due to a cooling system failure. A second ST1 caught fire at the 2015 Copenhagen Historic Grand Prix, this time attributed to a fuel-line fault. Despite the controversy, all 15 planned units were eventually sold, and the ST1 remains the car that put a Scandinavian hypercar on the map.
