History

The Zeekr 001 was unveiled when Geely formally announced the Zeekr brand in March 2021 and deliveries began in October 2021. Originally conceived as a Lynk & Co vehicle, the project was redirected to become Zeekr's founding model. It is built on Geely's modular Sustainable Experience Architecture (SEA) platform and is marketed as the world's first mass-produced electric shooting brake, borrowing the five-door estate-coupe silhouette associated with cars like the Porsche Panamera Sport Turismo.

Powertrains range from a single rear-motor setup (around 272 hp / 200 kW) through a dual-motor AWD variant (around 544 hp / 400 kW) to the limited FR performance edition, which uses four motors for a claimed 1,265 hp and a 0–100 km/h time of 2.02 seconds. Battery options have grown over successive annual updates; a 140 kWh Qilin pack released with the 2023 model year enables a manufacturer-quoted 1,032 km of CLTC range. The 2024 update added 800V charging architecture and Zeekr OS 6.0, while the 2025 model integrates dual NVIDIA Orin-X chips for Haohan Smart Driving 2.0.

Sales have been strong by premium-EV standards: 71,941 units in 2022, 76,246 in 2023, and 99,984 standard units plus 241 FR models in 2024. The rapid cadence of specification changes — sometimes within a single model year — drew protests from early buyers concerned about swift depreciation, a recurring challenge for Chinese EV makers competing on frequent tech refreshes.
