ZAZ Slavuta (ZAZ-1103) History

Introduced in concept form in the mid-1990s and entering full production in 1999, the ZAZ-1103 Slavuta stretched the Tavria's wheelbase and added a fifth door and a longer rear body to create a practical liftback. Cargo capacity reached 300 litres, expandable to 740 litres with seats folded — a significant improvement over the short-tailed Tavria. A fuel-injected 1.3-litre MeMZ-307 variant produced 70–72 hp and reduced fuel consumption compared to the carburetted baseline.

The Slavuta remained in production until January 2011, when the last car rolled off the Zaporizhzhia line. It was the final ZAZ model developed fully in-house before the company shifted to assembling licensed foreign platforms.
