ZAZ Sens History

The ZAZ Sens was introduced from 2002 as a cost-reduced, locally-content-heavy variant of the Lanos, substituting the Korean Daewoo engine with ZAZ's own 1.3-litre MeMZ-307 unit producing around 63 hp. It was positioned below the full Lanos as Ukraine's most affordable new car and was aimed squarely at budget-conscious private buyers.

Production of the entry-level Sens ran until roughly 2011 (sources vary — some place its end nearer 2008, while other references treat the Sens badge as continuing on the domestically-built Lanos T150 as late as 2017), by which point that T150 had absorbed much of the same cost and content positioning, rendering the separate Sens branding largely redundant.
