History
Wiesmann revealed the GT MF4 concept at the 2002 Essen Motor Show and showed the first real prototype at the 2003 Frankfurt IAA — the brand's debut in the coupe segment. The GT clothed Wiesmann's trademark retro fastback shape over an aluminum chassis and used BMW's naturally aspirated 4.8-litre V8, initially rated at 367 hp, giving it a 0–100 km/h time of around 4.6 seconds and a 291 km/h top speed.
For 2010, Wiesmann refreshed the car as the GT MF4-S, updating the exterior with modernized headlights and an automatically deploying rear spoiler; under the bonnet the S65B40 4.0-litre V8 (borrowed from the BMW E92 M3) provided 420 hp, later supplemented by an N63 twin-turbocharged option. A roadster open version of the MF4 had appeared at the 2009 Geneva Motor Show, rounding out the range.
The most exclusive MF4 variant was the GT MF4-CS unveiled at the 2013 Geneva Motor Show — a lightweight track-focused edition with just 25 units planned. Production of the entire MF4 family ended when Wiesmann filed for insolvency in August 2013 and ultimately closed in May 2014.
