Unic 10/12 hp Twin History

The 10/12 hp was the first Unic, shown at launch in 1905 with a two-cylinder engine of approximately 1798 cc. An example reportedly won a prize in the 1905 Gordon Bennett sweepstake, giving the young company immediate publicity.

The twin-cylinder model soon found its way onto London cab ranks from around 1906, operated initially in small numbers before the more powerful four-cylinder cars superseded it. It was discontinued after the 1911 season, replaced by updated four-cylinder designs.
