History

The Touring Veloce12 Barchetta was announced for 2024–2025 production as a deliberate spiritual successor to the 1948 Ferrari 166 MM Barchetta — Touring's most celebrated pre-war work. The name 'Veloce' (fast) combined with '12' refers to its front-mounted naturally aspirated 5.5-litre V12, as the Veloce12 is a coachbuilt restomod of the Ferrari 550 Maranello — each car built on a donor 550 that Touring rebuilds and rebodies.

Production is planned at 30 units, each requiring approximately 5,000 hours of hand craftsmanship. The body is constructed from carbon fibre — a departure from the aluminium of the classic barchetta, but consistent with the revival era's use of modern materials within traditional forms. The Veloce12 was presented publicly in 2024, with deliveries beginning in 2025.
