History
The Vortex Tingo was introduced in 2010 as TagAZ's Chery Tiggo derivative — a compact crossover/SUV offering that gave the Vortex lineup a higher-riding alternative to the Estina sedan. Like all Vortex models, it was assembled from Chinese CKD kits with modifications intended for Russian conditions.
The Tingo positioned itself against the growing compact SUV segment in Russia during a period when Chinese-branded vehicles faced consumer skepticism; the Vortex badge was intended to provide a more palatable domestic identity. Production ceased with the collapse of TagAZ in 2013–2014.
