Sisu KB-24 (Nalle-Sisu) History

The Sisu KB-24 was a purpose-designed urban delivery lorry, conceived to manoeuvre on the narrow streets of Finnish cities. The first prototype — nicknamed Nalle Puh ('Winnie the Pooh') — appeared in 1955, and the marketing name Nalle-Sisu stuck for the entire production run through 1960.

The KB-24's all-steel cab was a first for Sisu, offering improved durability over the composite and timber structures of earlier models. It was initially powered by a 3.5-litre four-cylinder Sisu AMA diesel producing 70 hp; from 1958 buyers could specify an alternative 3.61-litre Ford Dagenham diesel of equivalent output. Annual production ran to only 100–150 units, making it a rare survivor today.
