History
Launched in 1996 to replace the long-running S-series, the E-series adopted a Renault-derived cab that gave Sisu a more modern, European-looking product while retaining its purpose-built chassis and Finnish-market DNA. Model designations shifted to engine displacement (e.g. E18 for 18-litre) paired with horsepower output, making specifications immediately legible to buyers.
Engine choices included Renault and Caterpillar units, giving fleets flexibility across applications — from long-haul road haulage to demanding off-road logging work. The E-series remained in production until approximately 2010, overlapping briefly with the introduction of the Polar before being fully superseded.
