History
Introduced in 2016, the Saina is SAIPA's facelifted evolution of the Tiba platform — sharing the X200 architecture and the 1,503 cc / 87 hp engine but with restyled exterior sheetmetal, a revised interior, and an optional continuously variable transmission (CVT) to broaden its appeal. The name continues SAIPA's Persian naming tradition.
A significant facelift arrived on 31 May 2020, meeting Euro 5 emissions requirements and upgrading the electrical architecture. An electric variant (Saina EV) was unveiled in 2018 but did not reach mass production, reportedly due to the impact of international sanctions on component supply. The Saina was succeeded as SAIPA's mainstream B-sedan by the Sahand in 2023, though it continues in production alongside the newer model.
