REO Diamond Reo History
History
By the 1960s REO was a truck-only manufacturer under the White Motor Corporation. In 1967 White combined REO with Diamond T to form Diamond Reo Trucks, merging two long-running heavy-truck names into a single division.
Diamond Reo built conventional and cab-over heavy trucks, but struggled financially through the early 1970s, and the firm declared bankruptcy in 1975 — ending the line of vehicles traceable back to Ransom Olds's 1905 REO Motor Car Company. (Successor operations later used the Diamond Reo name on a smaller scale.)
