Reliant Sabre History

The Sabre, launched in 1961, was Reliant's first four-wheeled sports car: a fibreglass-bodied open two-seater (the Sabre Four), later joined by the six-cylinder Sabre Six coupe. Built in small numbers, it gave Reliant the experience in glass-fibre sporting cars that fed directly into the Scimitar.

Its commercial impact was slight, but as the company's first sports car it is the starting point of the Scimitar lineage that became Reliant's most respected work.
