Reliant Kitten History

The Kitten, launched in 1975, was Reliant's four-wheeled small car, built around the design of the contemporary Robin to keep tooling and production costs down. It shared the 848 cc all-alloy four (around 40 bhp) and the fibreglass-over-steel construction, and was sold as a two-door saloon and a three-door estate, with a van added in 1977.

About 4,074 Kittens were made through 1982. Light and economical but never a big seller against mainstream small cars, its mechanicals were carried over into the four-wheeled Fox utility that followed.
