History

The Vibe (2003–2010) was the product of GM's joint venture with Toyota: a compact tall hatchback co-developed with, and mechanically identical to, the Toyota Matrix, built at the NUMMI plant in California.

Its Toyota engineering gave it a reputation for reliability unusual in Pontiac's late lineup. A second generation arrived for 2009, but the Vibe ended with the brand's closure in 2010.
