Pontiac Torrent History
History
The Torrent (2006–2009) was Pontiac's compact crossover on GM's Theta platform — a Pontiac-styled sibling of the Chevrolet Equinox — replacing the Aztek as the brand's car-based SUV.
A surprising GXP version added a 3.6-liter V6, but the Torrent was discontinued in 2009 as Pontiac was wound down.
