Plymouth Neon History

The Neon launched in January 1994 as a 1995 model, a small front-drive compact (shared with Dodge) that stood out for a roomy cabin, a punchy twin-cam four, and a famously friendly debut ad campaign built around the single word 'Hi.' The first generation offered both a two-door coupe and a four-door sedan.

It earned an enthusiast following through the performance ACR (American Club Racer) and R/T trims. The Plymouth Neon holds a poignant distinction: the final Plymouth ever produced — a silver four-door sedan — rolled off the line on June 28, 2001, ending the marque after 73 years.
