History

The Acclaim replaced the Reliant for 1989 as Plymouth's mid-size sedan on the Chrysler AA-body (twin to the Dodge Spirit). Roomy, sensibly priced, and offered with a V6, it was a steady seller pitched at value-minded family buyers.

Deliberately conservative in styling, the Acclaim ran through 1995 before being replaced by the cab-forward Breeze.
