History

Launched in 2010, the first-generation Peugeot 508 was a conventional three-box saloon and estate that replaced the 407, positioning the brand in the mid-size executive class. A second generation, revealed at the 2018 Geneva Motor Show, made a far bolder statement: the new car was a rakish five-door fastback in the mould of a four-door coupe, paired with an estate version.

The second-generation 508 also introduced Peugeot's first plug-in hybrid (508 PSE — Peugeot Sport Engineered), with a combined output of 360 hp from a 1.6-litre turbo and two electric motors, making it one of the performance high points of the modern Peugeot range.
